Comment Policy

CONTENT AND COMMENTS

Like similar sites, the Geek Buzz offers reviews, news, and commentary on entertainment. But, whenever appropriate, we endeavor to point out both subtle and overt elements of progressive ideals contained in it. If such an approach is offensive to you, we suggest you simply move on.

You’re welcome to comment on any feature you might find worthy of your time. However, we do have policies we strictly enforce:

All comments are held in moderation. Often they’re approved immediately. Sometimes, like when we’re sleeping, it may be several hours. But because we publish material that may be infuriating to some, many comments are abusive, false, redundant, and frankly, tedious to read. These will probably never be approved, not because you think you’ve ‘exposed’ some truth but because we’ve read it all before.

Comments must be longer than 10 words. Anything else will be treated as spam.

Use real contact information. Seriously, this blog’s software can tell if a comment comes from a fake email address. It can also tell if someone uses multiple fake information to give the impression they’re more than one person. Finally, it often ‘spams’ such comments and I never see them. So your masterpiece or “gotcha!” comment may never be read by a human if you try to disguise who you are.

Don’t be cute. Often, commenters who try to be sarcastic and cute come off as sounding sophomoric and I love pointing that out. If you want your comment to be taken seriously, make a serious comment.

Just the facts, please.
Don’t knowingly post untrue, libelous, or slanderous content. You’ll likely, and quickly, be called on it.

Hate speech is not permitted.  This includes derogatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.

Personal insults are not permitted. If you feel you must attack someone because you can’t defend your position, we suggest you take a break from the internet.

Posting personal information about other participants here is not permitted. Such actions will result in an immediate ban and possible referral to law enforcement. IP addresses are stored by this website.

Threats are not permitted. Does something someone has posted trigger you to the point you want to physically assault them? Move on. Any suggestion of violence against the writers of The Geek Buzz and others commenting here will result in an instant ban and a possible referral to law enforcement. IP addresses are stored by this website.

We reserve the right to delete your comments or not approve them at all. This is a privately owned website so we don’t have an obligation to publish your comments. If you’re a U.S. citizen, The First Amendment gives you the right to express your opinions on your website, not this one.

In short, my goal is to host interesting conversations with respectful people.
