Deathstroke ‘Titans’ Spinoff Series Possibly in the Works

The Esai Morales’ Version of the Character May Be in Development.

Warner Brothers is on a mission from the comic book gods to spread their properties across theatrical releases, network television, and streaming services.  In the midst of Joker’s improbable box office run, just months out from Wonder Woman 1984 and Birds of Prey, and hot on the heels on news regarding Superman, Green Lantern, Stargirl and others comes word that an all new spin-off from Titans featuring fan-favorite villain Deathstroke is in the works. The rumor finds the series landing at the CW, though given the nature of the character as featured on DC Universe streaming and the fact Deathstroke is already established in the Arrowverse, it’s more likely to slice and dice on that service or the new HBO Max.

Various sources are hinting it will definitely be the Esai Morales version of the character. Though not officially greenlit, it is in early development. A word of caution for fans, though. With the CW, DCU, and HBO Max all expanding their DC properties, there are likely multiple shows in early development and not all of them will go into production.

Deathstroke, AKA Slade Wilson, is one of the most deadly villains in the DC stable. In various incarnations, he’s killed Wonder Woman, Flash, Batman, the Teen Titans, and the entire X-Men in a crossover event called Marvel and DC Present the Uncanny X-Men and the New Teen Titans.  In a recent Titans episode, he easily disposed of Donna Troy/Wonder Girl and Robin. With no super powers, he relies on his hand to hand combat skills, use of deadly weapons, and keen intelligence.

More news to come.
