In a followup to the news we posted last month, The CW’s Arrow isn’t actually being canceled. Star Stephen Amell is just leaving. The show will continue in a new form with a lot of the original cast.
This news comes from Arrowverse producer Marc Guggenheim who posted a mock-up of a comic cover with the title “Green Arrow and the Canaries.” He tagged three actresses, Kat McNamara (Mia Smoak), Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance) and Juliana Harkavy (Dinah Drake). For the uninitiated, Mia is the daughter of Felicity and Oliver who will apparently be picking up the mantle of the Green Arrow and teaming with two of the show’s Canaries.
#Arrow‘s final season bows today, so it feels appropriate to share this glimpse of its future. Many thanks to @DCComics @manulupac @DaveMcCaig & Brett Breeding for this stunning art. #TheFutureIsFemale@Kat_McNamara @MzKatieCassidy @JulianaHarkavy @SchwartzApprovd @ojbalderrama pic.twitter.com/i6H0WEZAEn

Though it’s likely the title ‘Green Arrow and the Canaries’ is just a working title, this confirms the direction the CW is taking.
