Various media sources have now confirmd the superhero series Stargirl will appear on the streaming service DC Universe, with episodes airing on the CW television network the next day.
Other CW DC superhero shows like Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, Black Lightening, and Legends of Tomorrow will be crossing over in an epic television event called Crisis on Infinite Earths. Stargirl, portrayed by Brec Bassinger, will play a small part to explain how she fits into the “bigger DC live-action universe.”
Sharp-eyed Fans of the CW’s ‘Arrowverse’ already knew the character would at least be referenced because of last year’s Elseworld’s event. In a pivotal scene previewing the year’s crossover, Vixen, Powergirl, Captain (or Citizen) Cold, Firestorm, the Huntress, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and who appears to be the Smallville Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, were seen, apparently dead, on a battlefield. Stargirl was also among them.
It remains to be seen whether Stargirl will air in an edited form on The CW. The show, however, is being described as family-friendly and not adult-oriented like other DC Universe properties Titans and Doom Patrol.
Stargirl, premiering this spring, will be DC Universe’s sixth original series.
